What is Laser Tattoo Removal?

Laser tattoo removal is a simple and safe treatment that can achieve fantastic results in reducing the appearance of tattoos on the body.

Using the advanced technology of our Helios III laser, we target the ink in the skin. As the light from the laser passes through the skin, it is absorbed by the tattoo ink, breaking it into tiny particles, which are then safely disposed of by the body.

By breaking down the ink, the treatment reduces the tattoo’s colour density and, over time, completely removes it from the skin.

How long does tattoo removal take?

It will take several sessions for our team to entirely remove your tattoo, depending on several factors, including the size and age of your tattoo.

Typically, it can take between 6 to 10 sessions to completely remove the tattoo, with around six weeks between each treatment. Each session will last for between 30 mins to one hour, depending on the size of the area being treated.

The Treatment

Step 1 – Consultation

You’ll be invited for a consultation with our highly trained aestheticians, who will be able to discuss your treatment and carry out your test patch. We’ll run through the treatment, explaining how it works, before answering any questions you may have and outlining the cost of your treatment.

Step 2 – Your Treatment

You’ll then be welcomed back when our clinicians will begin your treatment. You’ll get comfortable on our couch in our laser room before we start the process of removing your unwanted tattoo.

Step 3 – Aftercare

Following treatment, it’s essential that you take good care of the area being treated. Keep the skin cool and avoid excessive heat for up to 48 hours after treatment, including swimming, exercise and hot baths or showers. Protect the skin by keeping it covered from sunlight and always wearing SPF 50+.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will I see results from my laser tattoo removal treatment?

You will start to notice a reduction in your tattoo’s appearance following your first treatment. However, for complete removal, it will take several sessions.

Will tattoo removal hurt?

Here at Koha Skin Clinics, we use the very best laser equipment on the market, which is designed to significantly reduce any feeling of pain during the treatment. However, because a lot of energy is required to break up the tattoo ink in your skin, you may still experience some discomfort during treatment.

Is Laser Tattoo Removal Safe?

Tattoo removal using lasers is very safe. Our treatment works by using energy to selectively break up tattoo ink only, ensuring the surrounding skin is left safe and healthy.
